J. Edward Lowe

Eddie primarily focuses on criminal defense, divorce and custody cases, and real estate disputes.

Like his parents and grandparents before him, Eddie grew up in Blount County, Alabama. He received his bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Alabama. He spent the spring semester of his junior year studying abroad at the University of Havana, Cuba.

While in law school, he clerked at the Institute for Justice in Arlington, Virginia, and in the Washington D.C. Judiciary Committee Office of then-Senator Jeff Sessions.

After passing the Alabama State Bar exam in 2013, Eddie returned to Oneonta as an associate at the law office of Carl Dalton NeSmith Jr. At the time, Rob NeSmith, Dalton’s son, was working in Washington D.C., but he returned in 2019 to join Eddie and Dalton to form NeSmith, Lowe, & NeSmith.

Outside of work, Eddie described himself as a “pretty decent” guitarist and golfer, who is in a love-hate relationship with home renovation. He enjoys a supporting role in the adventures of his long-time girlfriend, Bonnie Anne Peavy, Esq. and her two children, Padric and Emmy.
